Thanks Rod, Wow twins! That's jumping in with both feet! I think spring will be a great time to have a baby. Just crossing my fingers we don't go early, so much left to get ready!

Sorry to ask this but it's the first contest of this kind I consider to participate.
You are free to texture the house however you like :-)

The demo version allows 800x600 max size - so this is the minimum one can submit... If you can go bigger, that is better - but lets focus on other scene aspects first.

For new Maxwell users I thought I would post some useful links.

Be sure to check out the material/skies library. It's a great way to get some insight into how to build different materials. The layering system can be confusing but very powerful!

Also the THINK! Site is very helpful with some tutorials and help you may not find in the manual.

    THINK!

Lastly the Forums are a great resource as well.

    Maxwell Forums

Also if you are wondering what the preview engine "Fire" is all about I posted a thread in the Real-Time rendering forum here. I do a walk-through of some medium to heavy interior and exterior scenes. It pushes Fire far beyond what Nextlimit shows in their demos. It's a huge time save on exterior renders! I mean huge!

    The Fire Thread here

Can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Nor do I, but really looking forward to trying out a new render package. They offer a FREE download and with the help of sconlogue's links I think this is a great way to push folks to expand their horizons. Just my 2C's

I know a lot of you don't use Maxwell Render, but this type of focused miniCHALLENGE is intended to bring out what Maxwell Render can do in the hands of artists - experienced and new.

The multi platform / multi engine I set aside for the bigger Architectural Visualization Challenges... like the upcoming CITY LIFE.

    Default Change in components

Within the rules outlined, are we permitted to change elements such as framing for windows while leaving the locations the same, or change the scaling of elements such as deck size?

    Default maxwell

    Cool!!!
    Finally a maxwell render challenge!!
I really like this render engine!
It's very slow..maybe fryrender clean faster but for exterior scene I think it will be fine even without a renderfarm!!
One question...I haven't understand if interior scene are allowed...
