    Default Unreal - Vegetation Creation

    Hi all,
I'm really impressed with the results of the Vineyard challenge - I'm starting to consider it as an alternative to Lumion...

One question before I get started - it's unclear from the Unreal website where the various assets come from. Obviously, I'd model the building and landscape myself, which we currently do in ArchiCAD.

However, where do the various trees and vegetation assets come from - has each contestant modelled or bought them somewhere, or does Unreal come with a ready-made library, much like Lumion does?

    Thanks,

    Derek

Hi Bwana, I worked on one of the Vineyard project (specifically we are team 133), and we actually bought speedtree for all our trees. The Unreal Engine do come with example trees, but they are low poly and very environment specific. You can also buy some of their trees from their marketplace.

Speedtree has different applications for different uses, like for movies, architectures, and games. We use one of their application specifically for Unreal Engine 4.

I will be happy to help you, but most of the answers might be already in the Unreal Engine documentation:
