    Default TEAM : Engineered Rendering

    Hey Guys!

    We have chosen to visualize vineyard about two weeks ago, because or main work is another Unreal Engine project of ourselves.
    This challenge was announced on the related engine's main website, and after some time of thinking we told "why not" and decided to participate.

    So, we are the Engineered Rendering team containing 3 people - Vadim Knyazev (Vassad) and Artem Sazonov (Iceinferno) and Vladlena Kovalchuk.

    The previous couple of weeks resulted in modelled props, some basic landscape, procedural materials in Allegorithmic software (Substance Designer), a vine tree in SpeedTree modeller, and a little house.
    Also we managed to get into the process of making vine on the vineyards to plan all vineyard-associated staff for the house interior.
    Mainly our vineyard project is going to be quite fancy, with the use of the most Unreal Engine 4 opportunities as possible.

    Right now we do have promising progress, and will post it within the following week - we are a little bit new to write the "making-of articles", so we decided to have some progress firstly, and soon will
    post more detailed progress of us. The vineyard we've chosen to implement is a medium type one, located on the beautiful landscape with mountains and valleys.
    Here is the first screenshot, demonstrating our week-ago progress, it will be interesting to compare it with our final result in less than one week.

    I wish all the participants to show the maximum they can do with this great game engine. It is always delighting to watch the awesome, creative and of course logically-organized worlds.

    Showing some more progress results, still it is not up-to-date, but we went through it already, so posting our past WIP

    Second landscape version - for this one finally managed to obtain certain steps to successfuly make it fancy and quite realistic (made by Vassad and Iceinferno):

    Hey, we'd like to introduce our almost finished landscape. It was created using high-resolution Z-projected earth screen from google maps, mixed up with a simple Grass material, using normal map from another high-res map. The mountains are painted using the photos, captured by Vladlena Kovalchuk in Turkey last year, using World Aligned Texturing. The dimmed 'far' textures are made also from real photos, using a simple panorama curved mesh.

    Hey everybody!

    We have finally finished our vineyard, and confirmed our participation, so we well be judged
    We have quite a lack of WIP, but it is all in our minds now, we failed a bit about the time planning, so needed to rush the last 2 weeks hard to finish the work. The main programs, except UE4, used: Maya, Speedtree, Substance Painter/Bitmap2Material.
