    Default Team : Walter

    Hi there,

First of all, thanks for this challenge.. this will be a great opportunity for all of us to improve our skills

We're a small team from Sarajevo, Bosnia&Herzegovina: Ensar, Minja and Nedzad(me)
We are part of the Architectural office Jakstudio from London.

I know that we are entering really (really) late...we've been doing some work in the background to see if we had something first and in the end the end we decided to go for it, why not

My team and I will start posting some references and sketches first, then concepts and plans to present the idea.... then we'll move to models, breakouts etc.

Hopefully in these two weeks we'll manage to deliver, and give something back to the community

Cheers to all and good luck

I thought for sure no one else would enter this late. Like you said, it's worth the practice

    Good luck!!

    Hey

Here's the first update of our project. We still haven't found a good name for our vineyard, so for now we're leaving it as the vineyard.

To explain a little bit the concept:

Main idea is to have a building that is cantilevered on a rocky hill. The vineyard has clearly defined areas for visitors and workers, so we created 4 different pavilions:

    - Offices
    - Reception/Restaurant
    - Hotel
    - Wellness/spa

All of these are interconnected both outside and inside (we'll send out plans later, to explain a little further)

    - All visitors rooms as well the offices have a clear view on the vineyard.
    - We exploited the fact that the terrain is sloped and dug into ground to create big double heights spaces.
    - The restaurant as the main focus will have double height windows and a big terrace to really exploit the views.
    - Below the restaurant is the Basement Cellar which stores the barrels and it has a viewing gallery
    - The Tasting Room is located below the restaurant terrace and the big idea is that it has beautiful views of the vineyard on one side and on the other the vine cellar itself.
    - Above reception there's the penthouse apartment, that has the best views, and also creates the canopy for the dropoff.

Hope that wasn't too long to read, but i wanted to explain our concept a bit

The following links will explain it further

In the next posts we'll try to have some breakdowns and move to unreal asap

    Now back to modeling

    Cheers!

Here are little previews of the concept. As you can see the style is modern minimalist architecture.

Attached below are some quick paint overs that will serve us as guides to what needs to be done. On the exterior, we are trying to have a modular facade of different elements, that will be instanced in unreal. There's a great script 'tstools' that has amazing ability to copy instance location from max and paste it into unreal, so we are kinda planning ahead

    Hi There,

Long time since our last post..10 days gone really fast. It's been a busy week at work, so we hadn't had the time to work as much as we would've liked on this one.... anyway.
Here are some screenshots of our progress:
We made some Vines in speedtree, but were too high poly (about 13000 tris) so we decided to go with the lowpoly version which was done with the leaf maker inside speedtree (something like grass plates, only vine). It looks ok as the background but in the foreground it's noticeable (don't really have time to fix that
I played a bit more inside speedtree to get the cypress tree as well.
